Internal Corrosion Management
Predicting, monitoring and controlling corrosion on the inside of the wall — where you cannot see it and the coupon is telling you about somewhere else.
Why this matters
The problem this solves
Internal corrosion is the only damage class routinely managed using measurements taken somewhere other than where the damage is happening.
A weight-loss coupon in a header tells you about the header. The failure will be at a low point, a dead leg, a water trap or a spot where the flow regime changed — and the whole discipline is about closing that gap between where you measure and where you lose the wall.
The programme runs the mechanisms first — CO₂ and H₂S corrosion, oxygen ingress, under-deposit attack and microbiologically influenced corrosion — then the monitoring toolkit and its blind spots, then chemical treatment and how to tell whether an inhibitor programme is actually working rather than merely running.

Is this a certification?
The short answer is no, and it is worth being explicit about it rather than leaving it to be discovered later.

FAQs
Questions people ask first
No, and that is worth being clear about. AMPP’s Internal Corrosion Technologist and Senior Corrosion Technologist are real certifications with real exams, and EIM prepares people for both — but through the certification guides, not through this programme. This one is training with no exam behind it.
Only where it touches the internal picture. Cathodic protection is external corrosion control and is its own subject, with its own AMPP certification ladder.
It helps a great deal, and for an in-house delivery we would ask for it. The prediction work is far more useful against your own water analyses and operating conditions than against a worked example.
